Welcome Back to 1685!
Over the weekend, we held and estate sale at the 1685 John Randall homestead in North Stonington, Connecticut. We purchased the 28-acre farm on March 10, 2015, which will be the new home of our company’s headquarters and the future location of jovial’s einkorn and gluten free getaways. The property, which has been closed to the public for nearly a decade, was formerly known as Randall’s Ordinary, a restaurant and inn that featured open hearth cooking, created by Bill and Lucinda Clark back in 1985.
On Saturday, a day filled with emotion, we welcomed back many descendants of John Randall, community members that once dined at the restaurant, and former employees of Randall’s Ordinary. A number of the visitors told us that they lived in historic homes, built in the 1700 and 1800’s. From each one of them, we heard a similar message that resonated with us. When you live in a historic home, you never feel like true owners of the property, just caretakers of an important part of American history that will continue to live on after you are gone.
I am Romanian, from Transylvania, my husband is Moroccan, and we both have strong heritages, growing up very healthy.
I can't wait to receive your flour and olive oil too...
My husband is convinced that the Moroccan Olive oil from his grandparents farm is the best. ?.but he is very happy to try yours as well.
Thank you for everything you do, for having this beautiful way of living, you are such an inspiration to all of us.
With much appreciation and consideration,
